![]() ![]() If it helps here are screenshots of bubbleupnp and the sonos controller on my tablet. I am pretty sure that this costs even less to buy and run than any Synology server and my experience is that MinimServer is working better for me than any of the others I have tried - including eg Plex, XBMC etc. I use android tablets and phones here - with one purchase of Bubbleupnp for Android I can use that as a controller on all my android devices. I now run a Raspberry Pi with MinimServer installed, and a USB drive. My solution is cheaper than having a windows machine on all the time. This leads me to think that the server visibility you have is related to Windows, as you yourself said. That includes instances of minidlna, PS3MediaServer and MinimServer on two devices and two different linux distros. I mostly tried those running on Android, and I found that BubbleUPnP is just better than. There are myriads of UPnP Control Points. There are also a number of very good commercial offerings: Asset UPnP, Twonky, Serviio, JRiver etc. ![]() I cannot "see" any servers from the Sonos controller application. MinimServer is excellent (really: the best of the free ones) but it is not open source (free as in beer though). I am not sure why you are able to see WMP/AssetUPNP/Foobar2000 but I cannot comment as I have no Windows machines any more. Doubly so, as the UPnP media server software, in this case MinimServer, should have no influence on the audio signal produced by the UPnP renderer, as its only supplying the music file to the renderer, unless its been deliberately set to alter the file being supplied, ie by use of transcoding. I doubt that it will be solved since as you know it has been there for a long time already, and I agree that using a upnp server is more likely to succeed! The Sonos track limit is as I am sure you know, a problem for them to solve, but I understand that it might cause you frustration. OK now I understand what you want, but I repeat that I believe there is nothing wrong or to be done with MinimServer, for the reasons I gave earlier.
